What is paraphrasing?
What is a response?
- A response includes the title and author or whatever writing you are responding to.
- What (meanings, values, etc.) was the author trying to promote? This could be a short paraphrase. You may want to include a quotation or two.
- What is my personal position relative to the author's? Are there any ideas that remind you of a specific experience that you have had?
- How has reading and reflecting on this affected my lived world experience?
- What other questions were brought to mind?
In-class writing: Respond to the article "Meaningfulness of Lives." What are your thoughts about what May discusses and brings up? Follow the 5 points that a response should meet.
