September 16 - This I Believe Workshop

Word Dictionary

Peer Review.
1. Writer: Read your paper aloud.  Listeners: Note any moments that sound incorrect or that you are unclear on the meaning.  After reading the paper aloud, the writer makes sure the other 2 group members have a copy of the paper.
2. Listeners: Write down in one sentence what you think the belief is that the writer is trying to explain.
3. Discuss the belief sentences.  Are they what the writer intended?  Is the belief clearly explained?
4. Listeners: Read over the text again.  Mark areas that are still incorrect or that you find confusing or unclear.
5.  Listeners: Talk through the moments that seem unclear, either because of grammar or because you need more information.
6. Listeners: Talk about the aspects that work.
7. Listeners: Add suggestions for areas that could be expanded.
8. Listeners: Do you feel the ending is strong and reminds you of the belief?

Switch and repeat steps 1-8 for the other group members.

My thoughts:
* Formatting standards
* Titles
* English sentence patterns
* I would rather have short and simple sentences that are clear, rather than long and complicated sentences that do not make sense to me.
* Be specific with your belief.  Ok, you believe in friendship or love.  But what about it exactly?  I believe that friendship can show you faith in yourself?
* Fused Sentences

Looking Forward:
